In our school there is a huge thing for sports. Everybody does them. However there has always been a long disagreement about competitive sports and if they are good or bad for kids. Some people think that kids should not do competitive sports because there is a higher risk of injures, when they win it could lead to cheating, and because when kids lose they could make more mistakes. However I believe competitive sports are good for kids and it will help improve their physical health because it will lower the chance of obesity, kids will be more motivated so they will get more exercise, and because the more the kids play the less likely they are to get injured. Health Fitness says “ Children who participate in sports develop stronger muscles and bones, and the stronger you are the less likely you will suffer from physical injury.” Some argue that with competitive sports kids are more likely to get injured, however this shows that when kids do more practice and they play at more games they are less likely to get hurt. When they are less likely to get hurt the more they can go to practice and the more motivated they are to go to practice and games. In addition health fitness says “Having a controlled weight leads to happier children and decreases the risk of diseases that come from being overweight in their lifetimes, such as heart disease and diabetes.” This is important because if kids play more sports the less likely they are to be obese and when kids aren’t obese they can’t get the diseases and when kids can’t get the diseases they will be healthier physically and mentally. And then this will loop back up to kids being more motivated because they are healthy and when kids are healthy they will continue to eat
