Why Do Crystals Grow Smaller Than Sugar Crystals

HYPOTHESIS
My Hypothesis is that the salt crystals will grow smaller than the sugar crystals. I believe this because salt is less energized than sugar. So that causes the salt crystals to be less denser than the sugar crystals. The sugar crystals would be larger.
PROCEDURE AND MATERIALS
Salt crystals Materials ; A cup or a small bowl, ½ a c up Epsom salt, ½ cup hot water ,[optional] food coloring procedure;[1] Add all the ingredients in your bowl or cup [2] stir the solution until the salt is dissolved. Some crystals may still be at the bottom that’s ok.[3] Place the bowl or cup in the refrigerator and let it set for 3 hours [4] carefully scoop out the crystals out of your bowl. ABSTRACT
My science fair topic was would crystals grow larger with Epsom salt or sugar. Before doing the experiment my hypotheses was that the sugar crystals would grow bigger. To find a answer I had to go through a procedure. To make the salt crystals first I had to mix 1\2 cup of Epsom salt and 1\2 cup of hot tap water for a minute in a bowl. Next, I added drops of food coloring for some color in the crystals. Finally I put the salt solution in the refergirtor. For the sugar crystals I had to put a pan with water on the stove. Next I dissolved the sugar in to the boiling water. Then I let the solution cool down before it gets added in to the glass. After that I poured the sugar solution in to the glass. Finally put the solution where it won’t be disturbed. My results were correct the sugar crystals grew larger than the salt crystals. This happened because salt is less energized than sugar. So that causes the sugar crystals to be larger and the salt crystals to be smaller and denser. This experiment was cool for me. Each day the crystals grew a little bit more. It was curious
