Ticketmaster “makes money by charging customers a service charge, which can be as high as 75% or more of the base price of the ticket” (Hayes). This type of monopolistic control over the ticket market leaves consumers with little alternatives and having to put up with technical issues within the systems. Seeing this raises concern about Ticketmaster’s dominance over the market and its ability to inflate ticket prices is sparking frustration among concertgoers.
