Today I will be talking about the holiday we call Halloween. Halloween is where we all dress up in costumes and get candy from houses on the thirty first of October. Here are three things about halloween. First, I am going to be talking the history of halloween.

That is how I look at Halloween. Unfortunately here in Latvia they are not into this holiday and only children at school dress up but afterwards don’t go trick or treating and young adults enjoy going a bit crazy in the pubs in Riga. In the U.S. it is common to see carved pumpkins most everywhere and in some other parts of the world as well. There are also gourd-like orange fruits that get carved with ghoulish face and illuminated by candles.

Halloween is one of those unofficial holidays that many people all over county have embraced for years. We get dressed up in costumes, and go door to door asking for candy. Any other day of the year and this practice would be frowned upon, but luckily we can get free candy and go to costume themed parties and enjoy ourselves without being called crazy people. Does your school celebrate Halloween? My school doesn’t and I’m kinda glad about that. There are many reasons why schools shouldn’t allow Halloween celebrations. Kids could steal other kids candy, students may eat too much candy and get sick, and some students might feel left out because they do not celebrate Halloween.
As September comes to an end, October begins which means for many it is time to start preparing for Halloween. Halloween is a holiday that can be enjoyed by people of all ages; from kid to adult. Should we have school uniforms? it’s hard to think that something as little as wearing school uniforms could help in how a student learns but if you think about it, it affects a lot of things. People think applying school uniforms restricts a students freedom of expression. However it is rather weak argument. Uniforms do not take away a students right.
WIIFM Statement: Most people today celebrate this holiday. If you chose to dress up, or hand out candy, or even just use it as an excuse to have a big party. But most people have no idea how it originated and why it is so big today. Credibility: I have celebrated halloween ever since I was born. My parents would dress me up when I was a baby and I would pick out my costumes every year after.
