Many other teenagers have committed crimes. The most common are: theft/larceny, vandalism, alcohol offenses, etc. Depending on the severity of the crime committed by these youngsters they could be tried as an adult. If they are tried as an adult there has been cases where kids 16, and at the youngest recorded 14, years of age

Juveniles who are usually 14 or older who have committed serious crimes are tried as adults and are put into adult-state prisons. This is inhumane and unsafe for the child’s physical and mental health. One of the many reasons that minors should not be tried as adults is because their brains are not fully developed, so they cannot make good decisions until they are older, far into their twenties.
There are certain instances of juveniles being tried as adults and sometimes ending up getting a life sentence without a chance of parole. I find that pretty harsh because there have been some cases where the juvenile meant no harm, they were either confused or brought along by gang members and they end up being charged along with the gang members for just being with them when a crime goes down. I believe that juveniles do not deserve to be given a life sentence because for one they are still maturing, they can learn from their mistakes and make amends, we still have to combat crimes like intended murder committed by a juvenile with extreme punishments especially if they are well over the age of 16. In the article published by the New York Times on March 14, 2012 “Juveniles Don’t Deserve Life Sentences”, Garinger discusses that juveniles deserve a second chance since their brains are still developing.
What if your loved one was savagely killed by a teenager with no remorse? Juveniles should be convicted as adults for ferocious crimes because even though they are “kids” they kill innocent people and should get punished for the crime they committed. Teenagers commit gruesome crimes like murder and knowing what they are makes the situation far worse. I want to find out why so many juveniles have been locked up for gun possession or for committing a crime with a firearm. I want to see what percent of juveniles have access to firearms and why they choose to commit crimes. I am going to study statistics about how many juveniles posess firearms and how many juveniles commit crimes that include a firearm. There are many people who go away for possessing illegal firearms and that commit crimes with a firearm or weapon but what is puzzling me is how or why so many juveniles get acess to firearms and comnit crimes with them.
Juveniles should be convicted as adults for violent crimes because it is not fair for juveniles to commit big crimes and get away with it so easily. Juveniles should be tried as adults due to being aware of their crimes and having an intention to kill, however, brain development and maturity can play a role into the reason why teens kill. With being tried as an adult juveniles should be granted the opportunity of freedom pending on their rehabilitation status and if requirements are not met, convicts will have to complete the remainder of their sentence. People have long argued that juveniles who commit a murder should not be tried as an adult due the juvenile not being aware of their crime. Awareness, as defined by the Webster Dictionary, is “the knowledge and understanding that something is happening or exists”. Having the perception to comprehend the occurrence of an event is not a dumbfounded characteristic.
These are very serious offense and if a juvenile commits one of these offenses and are between the ages of 13 to 15 they should be prosecuted as an adult. The reason I think juveniles should be punished
In our society, crimes are being committed not only by adults but by juveniles as well. By law as soon as a person turns 18 they are considered to be an adult. So what if an adult and a juvenile were to commit the same crime yet were sentenced differently simply based on the fact that one is a child and one is an adult? Juveniles are committing violent crimes just as adults and should be given the equal treatment and sentencing as adults receive. Juveniles aren’t completely ignorant as everyone seems to think.
You are correct Joshua, the word respect just does not have the kind of weight like it used to have. These juveniles want the respect, but they do not know how to give it or get it. No one has taught them that respect is something that you earn. They think they are automatically supposed to get it. When speaking to a juvenile about the respect, they will say “just because you are older than me does not mean I am supposed to respect you”, that is incorrect.

Many people argue that “the teens that are under eighteen are only kids, they won’t count them as young adults, not until they commit crimes.
