There is so much going on in the world today I had a hard time picking a subject because so many have impact on one another. I started out with religious diversity and got into religion being a reflection on race or ethnic. Then I thought about doing racial diversity, but then it tied into nationality diversity. Nationality diversity seems to sum up racial and religious diversity into the main cause of the other diversities. I have noticed ever since 9/11 nationality diversity against Islamic people in America and in general has been on the rise, but with everyone so worried about racism and being politically correct, it has been a slightly taboo subject. Donald Trump put his foot down on this nationality diversity. He signed an executive order, which banned seven Muslim majority countries from permitting citizens to enter our country. It seems to go against the American way. America is built upon diversity and freedom. Freedom of speech, religion and the right to bear arms are a few important parts of American structure that sets us apart from other countries. Part of the reason so many people immigrated to America was because of freedom of religion. Now people are immigrating to America as refugees and need a safe place to live. I found information on the history of Muslim immigration. Muslims were first brought into the United States as slaves in the 1500’s, but they really didn’t start immigrating here on their own in large numbers until after 1965. The three main reason’s Muslims immigrate to the United States are because of refuge from wars, education, and Islamist ambitions. The Islamist ambitions is where we run into problems.
