The A Motivation - 8.1. What motivates people? People live their lives in a normal way. We do not usually ponder over thoughts like what is it that really motivates us as far as life goes. Motivation can be defined as “a reason or reasons for acting or behaving in a particular way”. Motivation is derived from the word ’motive’ which means wants, drives, needs and desires, within the people. It is the process of stimulating people to actions to accomplish the goals. Most of the people live life in the ordinary way. They do not know any particular reason that they want to wake up and do certain things. It is mostly the case that people need money to buy food and have living expenses. This is what makes them wake up and go about their work so that these purposes are met. Money has become an important part of life and people are driven to earn sufficient so that they can meet the expenses and have some fulfillment of their desires.
