Why Homework Is Important To You

Between balancing the International Baccalaureate program and being in a musical that requires an intensive rehearsal schedule, I 'm as busy as a bee this spring semester of my junior year. What makes time drag on to some people is that they 're just going through the motions simply because they are required to. I have discovered that my passion is performing. Once I had found something that I was passionate about, academics became easier to manage. Now don 't get me wrong; I do spend a considerable amount of time at rehearsals and voice lessons which limits the amount of time I have to complete homework, but from my perspective, this is what is particularly motivating. Perpetually being both intellectually and physically engaged drives me to complete my academic work. I know that when I do my homework that I will work efficiently because it means that I will be able to go to rehearsals without the stress of schoolwork haunting me. This concept also enabled me to see how much time I wasted before taking advantage of every opportunity to work in order to complete assignments as early as possible. On top of staying busy, I have learned that there is no point in creating enemies. As a rule of thumb, you should always be nice to everyone around you because you don’t know what’s going on in their personal life. This includes continuing to be polite to someone that is rude to you. Not allowing negative relationships to grow in your life will prevent obsessing over trivial drama. Having a positive attitude is the best outlook a person can have. In the theatre community, instead of criticizing a performer’s capabilities, it creates such a better environment when instead, we lift people up. This develops a safe zone within our community where we don’t have to worry about being judged. At school, I subsist by surrounding myself with positive friends that always see the glass half
