Future Career As A Dental Hygienist For as long as I can remember becoming a dental hygienist has been my dream job. My best friend and I always said we would open our own dental hygienist office together. Although we were so young and most people's interests changed, mine did not. This career would offer me a challenge but also be able to manage the work with places to have personal growth. Being a dental hygienist is an ideal job for me because it’s challenging, active, demanding, provides opportunities, teamwork, and personal growth. Their field of study deals with patients' mouths as they “Assess the oral health of their patients by conducting various cleanings and inspections. They receive training in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of a wide range of dental or oral health issues. They are trained to understand the many dental issues that can arise and to be able to spot problems by looking at x-rays and other images of the mouth. Their main goal is to avoid gum disease, tooth loss, and other problems by knowing proper care to provide patients. After assessing a patient's mouth they will come up with a diagnostic of the problem with their patient. From there they will come up with a plan to treat the patient and prevent something from happening again. Whether this is from a procedure or something they do at home, their job is to educate their patients on the diagnosis.
