Before making any cuts to specific sport clubs or implementing a participation fee we decided to obey two explicit rules throughout the process of the budget revision. The first rule is to ensure that athletics are equally fair throughout the school regardless of sport. Each student should feel that their
They never thought about having the athlete speak on their behalf. For how it is o sometimes not having enough money to get food, gas, money to go home, or have family come up to a game. They think that student athletes would not know what to do with the money but we haven’t been able to prove them otherwise. Taylor Branch is a big believer in letting our voices be heard and not just pushed to the side as if we are
By forcing athletes to go to college doesn 't mean they are going to get an education. If the athletes aren 't made to graduate what 's the point in making them go for a few years. Only reason they are forced is to make the college money, So basically the athletes are being used for money. To prove that why do you think other sports don 't have this rule? Because they aren 't wanted or make as much money or basketball or football.
They can't afford the school because they were given a restrictions. Then the schools can't stay within the budget without going over.lastly they have to reduce staff and if that doesn't work then they have to close down the school. So i dont see how they are charging people when it states in the Michael P. Auerbach, a journalist, researched “every child has equal and free access to quality education, and equal opportunities to take part in activities, clubs and other programs”. So it states that every kid that want to play sport should but the cost of the school
Yes,I agree with Coach Carter’s Decision to close the gym and bench his players until they brought their grades up. I believe it was a good decision Because, You should be more worried about your grades than basketball. According to the article the problem with the boys wasn’t on the court it was in the classrooms. They had to bring up their grades in order to even step foot in the gym.
Having their athletes workout at a young age every once in awhile isn’t that big of a deal, but everyday, that’s overdoing it! Young athletes generally have high spirits and big dreams, but having a coach who only criticizes them and never lifts them up can easily demoralize anyone 's dreams! Magic Johnson said this quote, “All young athletes need is a little hope, and someone who believes in them.” (Johnson) I agree with that 100%, because most coaches can’t see how their coaching tactics are tearing down their athletes instead of building them up because it’s never been brought to their attention. However, there was one situation where a coach was being overly aggressive towards the players on his team, and even after being told to stop he still didn’t change his
" This quote proves that the students are bringing in lots of money and the school has plenty to give. College athletes should be paid because they contribute to the school revenues. When it comes to getting fans in the arena it all happens because of the stars coming out of the locker room. Student athletes can be looked at as advertisement because they persuade people to come watch their skills.
Mike says”Students all over the world work hard at the sport that true love and don’t get a lot in return for it”. While college athletes may not exactly be employees, they are more than just students. Consider the life of a student-athlete, though. The average Division I football player dedicates over 43hours per week to his sport, meaning that he spends more than a typical American work-week training and playing football, in addition to his class work. Their work, which generates exorbitant amounts of money year in and year out, deserves Compensation.
Some people at Webb City High School would be very angry to find out that they will no longer be allowed to participate in extracurricular activities due to their grades. The students who really want to play sports though would get into gear and get their grades up to prove that they deserve to play. What is a School without education? Pointless. Other people in the community believe that the “C rule” is not fair for the people who do not participate in any extracurricular activities because they will not be being punished.
Everybody at the school is counting on the athletes to make the school look great, which requires a lot of work. So if you think college athletes have it easier than other students, remember they really do not because they are required to do more. Now after all you have read, do you believe college athletes should get
All good things must come to an end. There will be a day, when an athlete has to stop playing ball. That transition to stop being an athlete, will be the toughest game they play. They must be prepared for the day they have to stop attending the workouts, meetings, and playing the games. Many student-athletes are depressed when they don’t make it to the pros.
High school coaches should not be required to give equal playing time to all players who make the team. Kids in society have been handed things their entire life. There has been little to no sense of accomplishment after earning a spot or position on a team. Spots should be earned by being the best at what someone does, not for pitty and for moral victories to make them feel good. “In high school, kids should understand playing time is earned.
The rule teaches us that failure is harmful and shouldn't be in our regimen--Even though failure teaches us to develop our studying habits and how to succeed. Parents believe sports are a danger to our society and children but aren't taking the time to ask their children how sports have benefited them. Schools don't apprehend student's needs into deliberation. Many sports teams lose games due to teammates being taken out of
If they have failing grades as well, the colleges are sending their students into the world without a real chance at becoming professional athletes, and without an actual education. In the end, they will be left unprepared for life. My first reason I believe athletes with bad grades shouldn’t play sports
Children have strived for years to make their parents, teachers and coaches proud of them. Kids have come to practice Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday, and Friday to get better, while their academics are suffering. Students have pushed their bodies to the limits, causing extreme injury that will hold them back from sports in the future. Student athletes are not getting the opportunity to play multiple sports during the year, because they are expected to spelize in one sport and focus on it year round, leaving no opportunity to play other sports or do other activities. Youth sports are becoming too intense for young children to keep up with.
