Until I began playing golf, I did not understand the true meaning of the word, “passion.” Passion is defined as “a strong and barely controllable emotion.” In golf, I have found my passion. Golf is what gets me out of bed in the morning. Everything that goes with it – the training at the gym, the practice, the competition – pushes me to be the best I can be. Even though it frustrates me sometimes, I love its imperfection. Every shot is different. Every swing is different. Every course, every hole, every fairway and green is different. Those differences are what make golf what it is. Moreover, the challenge of finding a four-inch hole on a 6,000 yard golf course presents an idea that no other game has. Things can change in an instant. I never hit every shot perfect, but the one shot I do hit exactly how I want to is what keeps me coming back day after day. Nothing matches the feeling of catching a ball in the dead center of the clubface and watching that ball soar on the perfect line to your target – all as you stand in perfect balance, after completing a perfect, rhythmic swing.
