From philanthropist to producer, actress, author, and American talk show host Oprah Winfrey is all of it in one person. A leader is someone who will put others before themselves, they show others how to stay determined during tough times in their lives as well as prove that everyone is valuable, and deserve the same opportunity as much as others. Oprah has been such an inspiration to all, with all of her acts of leadership qualities like Selflessness, Perseverance, and Empowering Others
Oprah had a passion to build a school for young girls and allowing them to have an education so they could impact the world one day. She believes that every girl has the potential to be something more to impact society. With this idea in mind, “Winfrey has invested $200 million of her fortune to build her school” (Heyman et al.). She was willing to give up a fortune to open up a school to benefit children's education in South Africa. In addition, she had to undergo a very tough childhood to get to where she is now today which took patience and determination. In the article, it states, “Like Winfrey, they have climbed from poverty to heights scarcely dreamed of as little girls”(Heyman et al.). In common with those young girls, Oprah came from a not-so-lush childhood and has given them an experience that has changed their life forever.
