“Ava, 13, was excited for the first day of school. She felt good in her new striped sweater and jean skirt. But then her teacher pulled her aside. “That skirt is too short.” the teacher said.” (scholastic action 1). School uniforms have been utilized more often by schools in the past to ensure student comfort, and education. However, less and less schools have been incorporating this technique due to parent bias’s and one sided claims. However, school uniforms are actually beneficial to parents and students. Thus, uniforms should be enforced more in schools because they prevent bullying, will allow children to strengthen a life skill, and provide children with a quiet, focused working space. One reason school uniforms should be enforced more in schools is because school uniforms will prevent bullying. School uniforms can eliminate the pressure students feel to “fit in” in fact, “experts say that uniforms can reduce bullying. If everyone is wearing the same thing, nobody will be picked on for their clothes.” (scholastic action). This is proved in the article, “the high cost of school uniforms.” it states, “uniforms are an expensive addition to parent’s budgets.” this proves that school uniforms can be expensive because back to school shopping is already expensive as it is, and uniforms are expensive, and cost a lot. There was also a study done in 2017 by huntingtun bank, the study showed that “back to school shopping has been detrimental, and burdening to families that cannot afford costly school supplies.” (NBC news).
