Ulysses S. Grant (named Hiram Ulysses Grant) was born on April 27, 1822. Grant began his military career graduating Westpoint as an average student in 1843. Grant fought in the Mexican-American War along with Robert E. Lee, a man he would be facing on the battlefield nearly fifteen years later. Grant came to an early retirement in 1854 but after struggling monetarily in civilian life he rejoined the Union army in 1861. Grant was the most famous Union General in the Civil War.
Built in 1705, the Colonial Williamsburg 's capitol had made decisions that have changed the history of the U.S. with years of work put in to validate it. In fact, many decisions by historical geniuses influenced history, and majorly affected our current rights and independence from Britain. In addition, guidelines left behind from the colonial age taught us how to maintain a fair government of which a democracy takes place. From the casualty losses to major expansion, the United States has developed World History with each major aspect of important, historical events. In this course I have learned not only important events, but how to analyze them and how they affect our world today. History is a great topic because as we acknowledge past events, it influences the future. Events really mold the culture and society that everyone lives in.

We deceided on Harriet Tubman as our influential person in history. We chose her because we both learned about her in grade school. We both really wanted to do a woman who was very influential in American History. We finally came to an agreement after many hours of researching women in American History. We almost chose Eleanor Roosevelt, but decided on Harriet Tubman because of her bravery.
- The importance of Harriet Tubman is, she was an abolitionist and freed hundreds of slaves out of slavery. She returned at least 19 times. The journey back to the North was known as the Underground Railroad. Tubman was known for her courage and for keeping the fugitives that she led safe. Also, Harriet was a spy, scout and nurse for the Union in the American Civil War.
WWI ended with Germany signing the Treaty of Versailles. Germany was forced to sign this treaty, because if they did not sign the treaty, then they would be attacked. There was essentially no compromising. The terms of the Treaty of Versailles focused on Germany itself, and not the other countries that were fighting on Germany's side. Germany got the most punishment because they were the third man in this war.

The civil liberty which is the most important is the right of assembling peaceably because it allows ideas to spread throughout society, for people to live and work in a suitable environment, this also people to petition the government in large groups of people. Without the right to assembly; ideas would not spread through society. When you talk to friends or a co-worker, you think of ideas that further benefit yourself or other people. Many inventions were made this way. If people did not have the right to assemble, the living environment in America would be corrupt and, consequently, people would not be as productive at work.
