For twenty straight weeks football spectators stay up to watch “the big game.” From 1:00 PM to 11:30 PM on Sundays 64% of men are on their couch watching football. On February 7th Super Bowl fifty goes underway, and friends and family will come together to cheer on their team. No other sport is as watched as football. Fans love the intensity of close games and for many people watching their team play is their favorite activity that they could ever imagine. Many health experts believe football isn’t worth it, because of the several injuries even one player has received. Why should kids not receive the pleasure they get from football because of the unfortunate injuries some professionals have came across. Young children should be allowed to participate in tackle football, because football provides the most scholarships, football helps kids get in shape, and young children learn important aspects of life.
To begin with, football provides the most scholarships of all sports. Unfortunately, some teens can not afford to go to college, so being sent a scholarship to play football is an amazing offer. Football is a very physically active sport, and players themselves reap the benefits of being so active. One third of children are obese. Amir Khan states in the article “Should You Let Your Kids Play Football?”, “A lack of exercise is a major component of obesity.” ( U.S. News World Report) Many kids enjoy their life watching television and eating snacks, but what some children don’t realize is the consequences of their laziness. Many children enjoy sports and football in particular. Not only is football enjoyable but players stay fit and healthy.
