There are many factors that can influence a person to decide whether or not they want to go to college. But everyone should at least have the chance to try.” College may not be for everyone but it doesn't hurt to try. Some people may argue college ain’t worth it, it's too expensive and a waist of time.
A college education has higher benefits in the long run for better higher paying jobs. Some people think no matter what it gives them it just is not worth the cost. Although, a lot of graduates of college stated that it treated them well, taught them more and college was worth their time (Pew Social and Demographic Trends). My parents have been in the habit of knowing how expensive college is with an older family member attending Texas Tech University and the understanding that in the long run he will end up with student loans. There are people that don’t get the opportunity to attend college because of many reasons like having kids early, financial issues, and some just believe they are not smart enough to really make it. Though I don’t find the last excuse a valid enough reason to not attend school, a lot of people use that excuse to justify why they are not going to school. But let me just tell you, you are truly missing out on a great college experience and all the good things college must offer due to you not attending.
Why People Should Not Go to College People should not go to college because is difficult to find out what career choice as a result of the inexperience and little information, the potential loans are overwhelming, and the huge necessity to start working immediately after school. In fact, many high school students go to college because it is expected of them, but that is not a good reason to go. If the students are facing pressure from their parents, friends, or teachers to attend college, but they do not feel ready. A person who wants to attend college should not take on such a large financial and time commitment just to please other people. College is expensive, and it does not make sense to spend money on a college degree if they are unsure of their path.
Education is very important to all of us as we decide what type of career we want. While I attended public schools growing up, I always thought about attending college. However, I became prepared for college when I attended Heritage High School through academic programs such as taking advanced placement classes, listening to advice from guidance counselors, and developing intelligent study habits to pursue my goals. One way I prepared for college while in high school was taking AP classes. Since AP classes are more difficult than standard class I had to put forth my best.
Getting a good college degree increases your reputation in the society. It gives you a good financial stability. By not joining college and just doing its alternative you are putting yourself at risk. If your college alternative fails, there is no backup plan and a person’s entire life is ruined. But by joining a college and getting a degree you provide yourself with a backup.
