The Iraq War started on March 20th, 2003 and ended on December 11th, 2011. The Iraq war had engaged in terror because of the dictator by the name of Saddam Hussein; he started tension between the West and Iraq. It was considered a “protracted” armed conflict, and the US wanted to invade Iraq to overthrow Saddam Hussein’s government. The Iraq war is also known as the second Persian-Gulf war. During the invasion in 2003 both troops from the US and Britain combined to invade Iraq. The Bush administration had based most of its rationale for the war which was viewed by the US as a rogue state The United States also argued about believing that Saddam Hussein was a supporter of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda, later on it was proven false.

The war in Iraq started because the United States did not appreciate the rogue nation Iraq and the tyrant controlling Iraq Saddam Hussein. The people of Iraq were in depression because of their new leader who was very sick in the mind and wanted to be the overall power of Iraq itself. One of the biggest reasons that United States began war with Iraq was because of the oil reserves in Iraq, Saddam Hussein is a threat to this oil reserve and this is a big reason why the US began war with Iraq. Lots and lots of people were killed; many had lost their homes and most of all so many Iraqi citizens lost hope in Iraq. In fact the death count of this war was approximately 500,000 people in Iraq not including the military deaths.
