I believe women should have the right to abortion. There are too many instances where abortion is what would be the option that makes the most sense, but that does not necessarily it’s most simple decision to make. There are a number of reasons women get abortions, like rape, health issues, financially unable to afford a child, not mentally fit, or they have a future they don’t want to postpone for a child. If we outlawed abortion, not only would it be unbelievable that people feel they have a say to a body that isn't their own, but it would also increase the number of attempted abortions, possibly causing major damage.
In the case of people who are raped, there should be no question as to why someone would not want to keep the child. Some people do decide to keep the child and that is good for them, it takes a lot of strength to do that. But, no women should be forced to keep a child that was caused by unwanted force. This one may be more selfish, but if you took all necessary precautions and it still happens, some people do not want to put their own life on hold for another person or don’t feel they are ready to care for another person. It isn’t ideal to get pregnant and have no other reason than living your life your way, but that is not the choice for anyone but the women in that body to decide. One way to look at it, is if someone feels they don’t want to have a baby because it will postpone their “ideal” life, maybe it’s best that they do have an abortion because they are at a point where they feel their life isn’t worth changing for a child. Maybe it’s best these people are not having these children because they are likely not going to put their child first if they do go through with pregnancy and maybe even resent the child thinking they ruined their future.
