The first reason why women and children can't go to school is because of poverty. Many of the schools in third world countries cost money for tuition, uniforms, and supplies. The overall poverty rate: 13.5% (43.1 million people) worldwide. Many families think that the only way to solve their financial problems is to marry off their daughter or send them into the workforce early. When this happens women and children don't go to school, which can impact their future immensely. Most of the time if someone is taken out of the school system in third world countries, they won't go back.
