Crazy Horse or Cha-O-Ha (“In the Wilderness” or “Among the Trees”) was a Native American war leader of the Oglala Lakota. He took up arms against the U.S. Federal Government to fight them for encroachments on the territories and way of life of the Lakota people. This leads to a victory at the Battle of the Little Bighorn in June 1876. Four months after surrendering to General Cook in May of 1877, Crazy Horse was fatally wounded. He was wounded by a military guard while allegedly resisting imprisonment at Camp Robinson in present day Nebraska.

In the U.S, an animal is abused every ten seconds, and we are the only people who can make a change. We will never be able to stop animal abuse, but the least we can do is help the animals who have been abused. Vet Ranch is a non-profit organization that does just that. They take abused animals out of kill shelters sometimes even hours before being euthanized and nurses them to full health. Vet Ranch works on donations from the public only, and without donations would not be able to function.

I do agree with the U.S. Federal government’s management plan for wild horses. Based on the reading, the U.S. Federal government had the best interest of wild horses in mind when declaring this act. The act protects horses from humans by making wild horses components of the public land they occupy. The Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act prevents humans from slaughtering wild horses. The act also considers the natural behaviors of horses and how these behaviors will affect the longevity of the wild horse population.

Working with other female icons such as Beyoncé or Cardi B, also known for being strong women, she has cemented herself as one of the tops.
“These soldiers cut down my timber, they kill my buffalo and when I see that, my heart feels like bursting.” Buffalo, or the American bison, populations have become almost extinct in the wild going from several million to just a couple hundred in just a few years. This was caused by the buffalo’s hides sold for high profits making them desirable to the colonials who over hunted them and drove them towards endangerment and even hurt the Native American populations who relied on the buffalo as their main source of food. Because of this the buffalo were a very important part of the 1800s and western expansion and ultimately led to the fate of many Native American tribes.
In the article “Life Has Never Been So Good” by Michael Shermer (2010), he compares and contrasts the differences between the cost of living in today’s future with the cost of living in the past. Shermer also discusses how the future has changed the economic wealth in our society because of the changes in technology and the possession of material goods for civilians. The author states that living is even better because of lack of crime rates and better working environments as well. In his essay, Shermer wants his readers to understand that “these are the good old days” of the future.
The question of the necessity of zoos is extremely controversial nowadays. There are many people who advocate for replacing them with sanctuaries as they believe money spent on keeping wild animals captive might have been used for conserving them in wild. Others are concerned that zoos serve not only for people's pleasure but for preserving and keeping populations that otherwise would go extinct. There are sufficient arguments for both points of view, expressed in various articles that are dedicated to the significant topic. “Do elephants belong in zoos?” by Jeffrey P. Cohn and “Eight reasons why zoos are good for conservation” by James Borrell are the examples of such articles.
