Not much is known about the life of the infamous actor and playwright William Shakespeare. Although he holds so much mystery, Shakespeare is known and remembered for being one of the most talented playwrights of all time. He has a very unique writing style that we still celebrate today. William Shakespeare’s life and career affect his poems “Shall I compare thee to a Summers Day’’ and “My Mistress’ Eyes are Nothing Compared to the Sun”. William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon on April 23rd, 1564, and was baptized in the area on April 26th, 1564. He was the third of the eight Shakespeare siblings; however, only five of them lived to be adults. His mother was Mary Arden Shakespeare, who came from a very prominent family. Around 1592, he had successfully made a name for himself in London as an actor and playwright. According to Ruby and Mark, “It is not known exactly when Shakespeare began writing, but contemporary allusions and records of performances show that several of his plays were on the London stage by 1592” (Poetry for Students). He came to fame and excelled, starting some of his earliest plays, which are still widely known, celebrated, and performed today.
