Shaquana Jordan and Priscilla Partlow conducted a windshield survey on February 17th in the city of Newark. The objective of the survey observed consisted of small businesses, such as chicken shacks, Spanish bodegas, liquor stores, banks, strip malls, gas stations, a football field, Dunkin Donuts, dollar stores, HR Blocks, a large community park, schools, public transportation, Spanish and Portuguese restaurants, no fine dining observed. The inner blocks, full of beautiful private homes exhibited manicured lawns, while the shared homes, exhibited garbage, broken fences and a little less attractive lawns. However, the people in the community appeared to be carefree going about their tasks, waiting for public transportation, and shopping. This is evident by personal observation and assessment during our windshield survey. The most identified ethnic groups moving throughout the selected community appeared to be of Hispanic descent, standing at the bus stop, communicating with someone else, or just walking up and down the streets. Moreover, Mount Prospect Avenue in Newark appeared to have commonly used services, such as, two large community supermarkets, health care facilities, senior citizen buildings, homeless shelters, …show more content…

Shaquana and I created strategic plans all addressing the clients’ issues. The model selected, The Biopsychosocial Model, according to the biopsychosocial model approach definition, this model systematically considers biological, psychological, and social factors and their complex interactions in understating health, illness, and health care delivery (The Biopsychosocial Approach). The case study explores the client situation in hopes of effectively intervening, providing support, motivation and positive outcomes.
