A person traveling through the many regions of Asia may encounter the many religions and the beliefs of each religion. South Asia includes the religions of Hinduism and Buddhism, and East Asia has the religions of Confucianism and Taoism. South and East Asia’s religions focus more on the life around a follower and the path he chooses to take. These religions are centered around acceptable behaviors in the religion.
Religions have greatly shaped their followers' lives by their origin stories, societal teachings, and tone in their writings. The depiction individuals have of women has changed drastically over time. From being seen as a lower class gender, to having women politicians today, they have come a long way. Back in the 10th century when An Ancient Tale: When the Sun Was God took place, the role of women differed immensely compared to the way women are portrayed today. Throughout the film, women are depicted as a weaker gender within society, although they can be rulers within their own families.
“Food, Inc.” is a documentary about the production of food that many people do not know about. The purpose of the film was to bring awareness of the industrial food production hoping that viewers will make better choices when eating. It was an interesting film because it showed footages of farms, slaughterhouses and food packaging factories, things that some people might not be aware of because it is not usually covered in the news. Aristotle’s means of persuasion was used in this film to demonstrate the main points. Ethos was used throughout the film.
It is crucial to remember that Islam is a diverse religion while determining which interpretation of the religion is most accurate. Within the religion, there are numerous interpretations and traditions, and various communities may hold various beliefs and rituals. The context in which these interpretations and practices emerge must also be taken into account. According to Ahmed, women's Islam developed in a society where they were marginalized and excluded from conventional Islamic settings and rituals. It gave women a way to live out their faith in a way that was significant to them and on their own terms.
Because of these religious laws, many women's freedoms were unfair. One piece of evidence that shows this is “the value of a woman's life was half that of a man (for instance, if a car hit both on the street, the cash compensation due to the woman's family was half that due the man's);”. Another piece of evidence is “ a woman's testimony in court as a witness to a crime counted only half as much as a man's; ”. Both of these pieces of evidence show how women were not treated equally and that the men had greater power and more advantages. This affected the people by women being denied equal rights.

Religion has created and resolved many conflicts in civilizations. Throughout world history, religion has played a huge role of different societies due to the conflict that it can cause in cities, countries and even full continents. As time goes by, maturity within each religion progresses. Each religion has become more forgiving with their rules and guidelines which is a drastic difference to how it used to be when old countries used religions to unite and decide government rulers. Religion is a crucial part of civilizations, it can have many different positive and negative effects on the way countries move on.
The role of Women in a republican Society was altered by the American Revolution. Pre-Revolutionary ministers preached the moral superiority for men with alacrity and bombast certainty, thus reducing women to the status of inferior citizens that were unable to voice an opinion other than their husbands. The role of Women came under new light as the concept of Republican Motherhood began to take shape. The term, originally coined in the 1980 's, was earned when society realized that a republic could only succeed if its citizens were educated and raised in the virtues they approved of.

The Cult of True Womanhood in “The Yellow Wallpaper” In her essay “The Cult of True Womanhood: 1820-1860”, Barbara Welter discusses the expected roles and characteristics that women were supposed to exhibit in accordance with the extreme patriarchy of the nineteenth-century America. The unnamed narrator in “The Yellow Wallpaper” is seen to conform and ultimately suffer from this patriarchal construct that Welter labels the Cult of True Womanhood. The narrator falls victim to this life of captivity by exhibiting several of the fundamental characteristics that Welter claims define what a woman was told she ought to be.
Monotheism • Monotheism is the dogma or ideology that there is only one Deity. The three most common examples of monotheism is Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. All three religions share Jerusalem as there holy place, where believers can go and practice the idea of monotheism. Many believe that Christianity evolved from Judaism. Christianity believes in the Holy Trinity; that there is one Divine Being, which is God, the son of the Divine Being, which is Jesus, and the Spirt of Jesus, which is the Holy Spirt.
Christianity and Islam share many similarities with a few fundamental differences. Both religions follow monotheism, though in Islam it is much stricter. Jesus and Gabriel are focal points for Christianity and Islam respectively. God and Allah stand for the same higher power and basis for religion. In Islam, the five pillars are the main difference just as Mary is the mother of Jesus and the beginning of the Christian religions teachings.
A. PREAMBLE The terrorist attack on September 11, 2001 has sparked intense curiosity and interest in the world especially the West to learn and investigate the religion of Islam. The Muslim people are portrayed as violent and barbaric, and Islam as oppressive and antithesis to human rights values. Thus, escalation of public opinion about Islam has encouraged debates and forums, and also stirred demonstrations and movements which have compelled the Muslims to speak out their minds and interpret and recast their texts viz. Quran and Sunnah of prophet Mohammad and even question and challenge the prevailing culture and practices, and domineering structures.
