I feel as though my countless hours of binge-watching science fiction TV shows has finally paid off. I am now in the position to create a team instead of cringe at the groups that do not act as a team and are unsuccessful in the mission. I now have the power to ensure that the three people have the ability to make smart, moral decisions. With that being said, I would take my father, my aunt, and the UT Chancellor’s Honors Program’s own, Joshua Dobbs. I believe each of the people I have chosen have what it takes to face new challenges, and even new planets.
A Hope in the Unseen written by Ron Suskind is a novel about an underprivileged kid named Cedric, that wants the American dream, to go to college. Cedric really wants to get into MIT, but poor Cedric keeps getting shut down by mostly everybody about him not being ¨MIT material¨. Cedric’s high school failed to provide him an excellent education by shutting down his dreams into getting the college he desires to attend, the low self esteem he has, no longer wants to attend MIT, and being scared for being known for his intelligence. These points are the reason why his high school did not do the proper job on giving Cedric an education. Education is the key to success. Cedric’s experiences in high school affected how he approached his college by,
Adam Farmer obviously has some emotional/mental issues, so that makes him an Unbalanced Hero. However, Adam is self-aware. He knows exactly how he is thinking, feeling, acting, and reacting to things. He is very introspective and rather serious for his age. Help, it is defined as someone making it easier for another person or something by providing resources. Helping out the world could be done in many formats, volunteer work, stopping bullying or even taking groceries to an old lady’s house and etcetera. Helping out someone is a good thing to do and should be done more. In Unwind by Neal Shusterman many people have helped Unwinds even though they know it is against the law.
Long before I saw Justin Streichman and George Lamen as Vanya and Spike respectively in the appropriately named comedy “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike,” I understood the dynamic between these characters and the rest of the cast as it was heavily alluded to in the posters shown across campus. In these posters, Streichman stands in the corner of the scene, holding a tea cup and staring away in embarrassment as the people next to him are admiring and enjoying the silly and outrageous behavior of the practically naked Lamen. This one image perfectly captures who these characters are meant to be and how the actors portray them in the play. Vanya is meant to be the more mature, introverted character which contrasts the characteristics of Spike

In the book “Two Kinds” by Amy Tan, it’s about a little girl who is pressured by her mother to become something she doesn’t want to be. Although at first Jing- mei is excited to become a prodigy, she later realizes its something she just doesn’t enjoy doing. Consequently, the uses of allusion in the story help Jing- mei discover to not be a prodigy and that what her mother wants for her is not always important.
In the foreword of the novel, It’s Kind of a Funny Story, there is a quote that reads: “But it’s so much more than a book about depression. It’s about the promise of hope, strength, and the desire to live” (Cohn 1). This quote describes the feeling of the whole novel, which is about a kid named Craig Gilner who is battling depression, but also figuring out who he desires to be. Consequently, you’ll soon detect that Craig has an unexplainable strength that he doesn’t think he has till later through his journeys through a psychiatric hospital. In this journal I will be evaluating the person that is Craig Gilner, visualizing the psychiatric hospital he sojourns in, and predicting what choice he will compose when it comes to his life.
For most, students their first day of middle school nervousness is simply about a new school, new people and having to remember their locker combination. All of this fear was magnified for Auggie Pullman, the main character in the novel Wonder. Auggie was homeschooled until fifth grade and was born with Mandibulofacial dysostosis, also known as Treacher Collins Syndrome, which is a rare condition that affects bones and other facial features. Auggie would often be stared and pointed at by strangers. As some would guess, his parents, especially his mom, are very protective over him.
Auggie knew that would happen. When it was time for lunch, Auggie was very shocked because a girl named Summer sat with him at lunch. Auggie and Summer ended up becoming friends. Auggie and Jack became friends as well. Auggie has noticed that no one dares touch him or have any contact with him.

Through his childhood he immensely looked up to his grandfather, Abraham Portman. Jacob grew up listening to his grandfather’s stories about an island of “peculiar children” where he had grown up.
• MIND IS THE SOURCE OF WEALTH She strongly believes that mind is at the root of creation and maintenance of wealth. It is the competent thinkers who create wealth and promote human economic prosperity through innovation and the creation of new enterprises. In her book the passionate producers known as the “Prime movers” like Dagny Taggart, Hank Rearden reshape the marketplace with their innovation and creation of a new enterprise. In John Galt’s speech he says “the man who produces an idea in any field of rational endeavor the man who discovers new knowledge is the permanent benefactor of humanity.”
The theme of Wonder is to not judge a book by its cover. This is because everyone had judged Auggie at the beginning of 5th Grade without even getting to talk to him and knowing his personality. Auggie had many people come up to him or meet him and them ask, “What happened to your face?” But he had Jack Will that would always stick up for him. The theme of this novel was the author’s purpose for writing it the way it is.
