World War I Was one of the bloodiest wars ever. World War I was a war fought in Europe between Germany, Russia, France, Great Britain, and the United States and many others. World War I was ultimately started with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary. The indirect causes were more significant to the outbreak of WWI than any direct cause. There are several causes that forced Europe into the “Great War” such as militarism, alliance systems, imperialism, and militarism.
World War 1 started in 1914 and went through 4 years and ended in the year 1918. The war started out with an assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Austria then declared war on Serbia and Serbia had Russia as its allies. Russia threatened Austria then Austria told Germany the problem and Germany declared war on Russia and its ally which was France. Germany went into Belgium and then Britain entered the war on the Russian side.
July 28th, 1914, marked the start of World War I, which lasted until November 11th, 1918. The Triple Alliance and Triple Entente fought each other in this war. The assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, an Austria-Hungary leader, marked the beginning of World War I, but the difference in policies between the involved countries ultimately fuelled the war. According to insider evidence, imperialism was a significant factor in starting the fire of World War I.
grow in both military and economic status. World War 1 began in 1914 in Sarajevo, Bosnia which was ruled by Europe. The background behind the war involved five major things. It involved imperialism and competition, disputes in Europe, many countries having military alliances, jingoism, and different ideologies about government and economic structure. Austria-Hungary sent its military to Serbia and in result led to Russia declaring war of Austria-Hungary.
World War I, the Great War, took place from June 28, 1914 until November 11, 1918. The Great War began after several countries declared war on each other. There were four fronts: Eastern front, Western front, Atlantic front, and Middle Eastern front. All the actions that took place in each front all led to the armistice being signed on the eleventh of November. World War I started as mainly a European conflict seeing as most allies originated from countries in Europe and Europe had most of the power, but in the end it expanded to beyond Europe as outside countries were brought into the conflict for multiple reasons.
The man in the picture above is Woodrow Wilson. He is creator of the fourteen points, which is the topic for my assignment. The fourteen points were created during the first world war. They called for a peaceful end to world war 1. Woodrow Wilson received the 1919 Nobel Peace Prize, as the fourteen points were successful in peacefully ending the war.
With the end of World War I, the United States President at the time Woodrow Wilson was attempting to create a set of principles in order to reach world peace. With his exceptional deliverance due to the use of persuasive rhetoric and his peaceful style, Wilson convincingly introduces his Fourteen Point plan for peace and stability within the world by addressing two main issues and creating a solution directed towards those specific problems. Woodrow Wilson divides the Fourteen Point speech into three diverse sections, each section dedicated to different sets of issues and solutions directed to fix those specific issues. The first division within the speech is Wilson responding to the issues within diplomacy in the unstable post war world.
World War 1 began on until July 28, 1914. After, the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, and his wife Sophie was assassinated. They were assassinated by Serbian nationalist, Gavrilo Princip, in Sarajevo, Bosnia. After the assassination, Austria-Hungary blamed the Serbian government for the attack and hoped to use it as a justification for settling the question of the Serbian nationalism. Days after the assassination, Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia.
While Roosevelt had a smooth ride with Congress Wilson did not. Wilson’s Congress was not in favor of his policies. Wilson’s argued with Congress forever to approve his 14 points which within the 14 points was Wilson’s main prize the League of Nations. This was the main reason Wilson wanted the points to be approved.was to unite the countries in Europe to create an alliance as one. Wilson fought so much with Congress and worldwide leaders that nearly all of his 14 points were diminished and the Treaty of Versailles was created which completely failed.
His legacy of peace, social and financial reform, and Statesmanship with integrity lives and at many school and programs named after him. Wilson was driven by a sense of mission and a motto his father had instilled in him, “Leave the world a better place that you found it” and he certainly
John Krakauer is an American author who is known for his many bestselling nonfiction books. Krakauer is the narrator of his book Into Thin Air, which tells the story of the 1996 Mount Everest disaster that he was a part of. He chose to write this book to give a full, in-depth story of what happened that day. Not only did he want to share the story with the rest of the world, but he also used it as a way to shed light on the events in his life. Krakauer thought writing this book would help him get the traumatic event out of his mind and remove it from his life.
Woodrow Wilson was a highly educated president and in his precedency era he accomplished social and economic reforms including the Federal Reserve Act, the Child Labor Reform Act and finally ratifying the 19th amendment, giving all women the right to vote but also making Wilson the last president of the United States of the Progressive Era. One of the most important decisions during his precedency was leading the United States into the First World War, which many arguments are that Wilson could have avoided leading the U.S. into the war during this time but many opticals drove the country itself to an unstoppable event and concerning the future of foreign policies. World War I was not a war that Wilson wanted to be a part of especially being that Europe and Germany were both part of the country’s main trade suppliers during the 19th century. Also, Wilson stood for piece in the eyes of the nation so making a decision to take the country to war would have
His goals were to keep the United States neutral in war, to keep in mind the rights of Americans and protect those rights. His other goals for war were to build up a United States Army in case they needed it and try to end war in peace (Historic World Leaders). The United States and Britain were close trading partners so once Germany began to have problems with Britain it effects Wilson's goal to keep the United States out of war. America lasted about three years staying out of the war but once Germans attacked and sunk two ships with Americans on them, United States turned against Germany. The United States decided to take the step to enter war when America received the Zimmermann Telegram that was intercepted by Britain.
Instead of just blaming one country or another, it seemed to me, like he was trying to sort out the various situations in which the countries could be put into the same situations that they were currently. Fixing boarders, giving people more freedom and just overall figuring out where countries could see themselves after the war was ending. The war was bloody and horrible for many people and I could see if people stuck to this that possibly they could learn to understand and learn to get over the situation and turn tides to the good sides. Free trade, open agreements, democracy and self-determination were all main points in his fourteen points and with those overall a country to figure out where it wanted to go as a country without ending up in another bloody
Gene therapy is now considered a new therapeutic area of study in modern medicine. Genes are special segments of DNA that provide the information to the body to properly function. It involves the transfer of genetic information into the tissues and organs of patients. As a result, it can be used to eliminate diseased genes or restore their normal functions. Another application of gene therapy involves the inclusion of different function to the cells, in order to either fight cancer or other diseases.
