ABOUT GREEN: Duff Green should be a household name to anyone studying the political history of people who have an influence on media. W. Stephen Belko did an excellent job writing the life and inspiration of this Jacksonian American. Green worked very close with President Andrew Jackson in the beginning of his term. That ended shortly after his feud with John C. Calhoun, which led to the annexation of Texas. This also helps the west expand as well.

Hansel and Gretel is about a brother and sister on who was left out in the woods and runs into a house that is supposed to take out of their hunger because its decorated full with candy. Its like an sign of hope, but instead inside they meet an old women who wants to get rid of them. She tell them all kinds of torture that she wants to do to them, and tries to trick them into the oven.
In the historical fiction book, A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park. The character statement, though Salva has gone through so much, he persists, is proven in many ways throughout the story. Two pieces of evidence to prove the statement, are shown towards the beginning and end of the story. The claim is generally expressed shortly after the main character, Salva’s, uncle gets shot by the Rebel soldiers. Though Salva was feeling down at times, he always remembers his uncle's words, “You need to walk only as far as those bushes.”
The book I read for my non-fiction book report was Woodsong. Woodsong is 132 pages from cover to cover. The book is a non-fiction written by Gary Paulsen. In my book there was only one main.
At the beginning of the novel, sixteen-year-old Steve Harmon’s life dramatically changed. The teenager was arrested and charged with the murder of a Harlem drugstore owner. Although Steve was presumably not the actual killer, his role as a supposed "lookout" for the gang that committed the crime ultimately landed him in prison. With regards to this, past events can have a major effect on the present values or attitudes of a character. Moreover, Steve’s past experience has contributed to the novel’s themes-
Rocket Boys is a memoir by Homer Hickam Jr. (Sonny), and it’s about his journey to become a rocket engineer for NASA, and how he fought against the norms his town of Coalwood had. He fights the discouragement of his dad and cycles through many different types of motivations. The main theme of this book, Rockets, is the perfect theme for Rocket Boys for many different reasons. Rockets are a perfect theme for Rocket Boys because they are a symbol of aspiration and escape, they act as the embodiment of learning and innovation, and they represent community transformation. Rockets in Rocket Boys symbolize many things, but especially the aspiration of the main characters, Sonny and his rocket launching agency (the BCMA), and their escape from the norms of the town of Coalwood.
"Running for His Life" In the story "Running for His Life", Michael Hall explains the genocide Gilbert Tuhabonye experienced when he was in high school in East Africa and how he managed to escape and relive his life in Austin, Texas. Tuhabonye's teachers and the Tutsi teenagers were burned alive and beaten to death by friends of theirs. A couple of students tried eluding, but we're caught and killed by the killers. The building was on fire, burning corpses, and burning to death any students who remained alive.
In the three chapters that we were suppose to read for homework over the past few nights Jim and others had came up with at least two escape plans that they wanted to try out. One of their plans to escape was to run to a stone school where Church was held and underneath the pulpit was a hole that they hid the n****** until a dentist could take them to Quincy then and then they would go on to Canaan they never got to use that escape plan because the day they were to leave miss Watson had to go get religion so Jim had to take her and at the same time they wanted Sadie to go with them too help a Baptist girl while they were there a storm broke out so they had to spend the night the next morning on the way home trees were down because of the storm
In Tim O’Brien’s novel “In the Lake of the Woods” the protagonist John Wade a Vietnam war veteran struggles through life after retiring from the army. Through textual evidence within the novel one of John’s struggles is battling his Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) which is attributed to traumatic events such as war that soldiers deal with when coming back from war into civilian life throughout his senior years. This disease is diagnosed after analyzing scholars work upon these mental illness that soldiers have. These sources are “Traumatic Encounters: Reading Tim O’Brien” as well as “PLAUSIBILITY OF DENIAL: Tim O'Brien, My Lai, and America” both scholarly sources discuss the traumatic experiences that John had which led to his PTSD.
I read the historical fiction book Woods Runner written by Gary Paulsen,which takes place during the Revolutionary War Era. The main character, Samuel, is thirteen years old. He lives in a colony with a forest west of it. One day he is out in the forest and he sees smoke rising from where the colony is located. The colony where he and his parents lived,had been attacked.
In society today there are young kids that do terrible things and they don't fully understand the extent of the matter. In the book “Monster” it tells the story of a young Steve Harmon, he planned a lookout that turned fatal but he had a change of heart. The people at the scene witnessed and could identify him as the lookout. He did not pull the trigger but he was involved in the crime. Steves name was mentioned when King and Evans were discussing the plans for the fatal crime.
John is a book by Gary Paulsen. The book teaches many themes. Three themes I enjoy the most are leadership, freedom, and getting along with others. Getting along with others is a big deal. In John, Waller uses fear and intimidation.
How is it possible to live with such joy in such poor conditions? This is exactly what everyone wonders about a young man by the name of Mr.Blue. Mr.Blue, written by Myles Connoly, is about a young man who is often viewed as insane by others for his peculiar joy and views on the world, and his close friend, the narrator of the story, who is constantly challenged by Mr.Blue’s morals and values. Mr.Blue’s sole purpose is to preach the Gospel to others. It's not something that he views as a chore, but instead something that brings him joy and that he hopes will bring others joy as well.
Themes: Loss Throughout the book loss is always prevalent. In the beginning of the book Barns are being burnt down. Not only just the barns were burned the animals inside and along with the hay. This was devastating to the amish because that his how they made their living.

This book contain ten chapter and tackles about the life of the pop star George Michael, how he start his successful career in the music industry and how he manage to overcome the problems that he encounter during that time. George Michael was a famous superstar in England in line with Madonna, Prince and Michael Jackson in the 19890’s. George Michael is a very successful musician and songwriter. George Michael is the youngest and the only son of the three children of Jack and Lesley Panos.
