World War Two Essay

World War Two was the most destructive war in history. Many cities were destroyed, by air raiders, and the atom bomb was dropped on Japan, and six million Jews were killed in the Holocaust. Over 50 million soldiers and civilians died. It began when Nazi Germans unleashed ferocious attacks across Europe, it spread to the Soviet Union, China, Japan, and the United states. However the war that consumed half the world started with a peace agreement.

Adolf Hitler, (leader of the Nazi party), signed strategic treaties with Italy and Japan, to further ambitions of world domination, after re-arming the nation. At the end of World War One, the Treaty of Versailles was signed in the Palace of Versailles in 1919. The Treaty of Versailles codified peace terms between the victorious Allies and Germany. Hitler had nothing to do with the Treaty of Versailles, but blamed it for Germany's suffering after the war. (“title”)
