The purpose of this paper is to explore the role of a wound care nurse. A wound care nurse specializes in evaluating, treating and constructing care plans for clients with complex wounds. They require distinctive knowledge and certification in the field in order to implement complex wound care procedures and updated techniques (Wound Care Nursing, 2017). It’s important to understand the healing process and changes of wounds as wounds don’t always react positively to specific treatments.
