The invention and commercialization of airplanes have had a dramatic impact on the world. Airplanes allow people to travel faster and further than any other mode of transportation available previously. It allowed for travel time between cities, states and countries to be radically decreased. Who would have predicted on December 17, 1903, when the first twelve second flight flying only 120 feet would change our lives forever? Or that Wilbur Wright piloting another 3 flights that day with the last being in the air for about fifty-nine seconds flying 892 feet? The Wrights created an important invention that has altered the lives of people not only in the United States but in the whole world. The Wright brothers made the impossible, possible.

He made many public flights often giving rides to officials, journalists and many salesmen. In 1909 Orville joined his brother in Europe to help with the booming demand, the Wrights became huge celebrities in Europe (Reuther,2016). A huge change of heart was beginning to fall over the Americans. The brothers were hosted by royals and heads of state, and constantly featured in the press they were happy and astonished with the result of their airplane. The Wrights began to sell their airplanes for profit in Europe, before returning to the United States in 1909 (Reuther,2016). The brothers became wealthy businessmen, filling contracts for airplanes in Europe and the United States. The aviation business they created showed people that anything is possible because of everybody telling them they couldn't but they proved everyone wrong with the huge success the plane has come to be
