Wright Brothers Research Paper

1018 Words5 Pages

There were a few people that were really recognized in the involvement of aviation development such as the likes of Orville and Wilbur Wright which is well-known as Wright Brother’s. These two people were born in America and both of them were fully grown as creators and aviation pioneers which their creation ultimately gave them the admiration of millions around the world. On December 17, 1903, they managed to create the first controlled flight which is heavier-than-air craft. Besides, they invented aircraft mechanism that made fixed-wing powered flight. Furthermore, the likes of Leonardo da Vinci which is well-known as an artist, scientist and many more. At first attempts, he was the first human to verify the feasibility of the flight by drawing …show more content…

They succeeded to create or develop the flying machines for human to fly like birds (Smithsonian, 2017). For example, the Wright Brother did not go for a high level of education but today’s world, human should be thankful because of their cleverness on creating the flying machines, human can fly wherever they want (Smithsonian, 2017). The Wright Brothers are a big icon or pioneers in the aviation industry because of their efforts and knowledge which lead them to inventing the flyer (Smithsonian, 2017). After numerous trials on their invention, they both did not give up until the flyer finally could fly up longer in the air and at higher altitude (Smithsonian, …show more content…

In World War One, The Fokker Dr.I, often known as the Fokker Triplane, was a World War I fighter aircraft built by Fokker-Flugzeugwerke (Franks and VanWyngarden, 2001). For example, the triplane aircraft which is known as Red Baron who shots 80 planes during air to air battle. Figure 2.5: Example of Red Baron Back then, there are two categories of aircraft, which is Heavier-Than-Air (HTA) and Lighter-Than-Air (LTA). Heavier-than-air is divided to three categories. The first one is a fixed-wing such as an airplane. Besides that, fixed-wing has three categories such as landplane, seaplane and amphibian. All these types have their own specialities and functions. For landplane, an aircraft can take-off or landing on land surface only. Meanwhile, seaplane can operate only on water and amphibian can operate either on land or water. A fixed-wing plane is capable of flight using wings that produce lift caused by the airspeed of the aircraft and the shape of the wings. A fixed-wing also uses for military aircraft, commercial aircraft, private or general aircraft and it also uses for experimental aircraft. Other than fixed-wing, rotary blade is also known as heavier-than-air. Example for rotary glades is helicopter. When the blades spin at the high speed, it will generate the lift. Automatically it will make the helicopter can fly vertically or horizontally. Glider is also considered in heavier-than-air
