In the year 2047, a global nuclear blitz erupted between the Earth’s most powerful nations in a furious dash for the little and precious remaining oil that remained in the Middle East. The bitter nemeses stopped at nothing to ensure that they were the victors of the avarice-induced bombardments to follow, which eventually led to the ultimate annihilation of the human race, barring a few astute survivors. The remainders only persevered through waiting in pre-constructed underground fallout shelters, which were isolated from the rest of humanity, save for their own select communities; they were powered only by geothermal means and sustained only by what their artificial greenhouses could procure. Forty-six of the fifty bunkers had fallen to disease, insanity, starvation, and rebellion over the centuries after. There were no pedestrians nor guards posted on the other side, none to taking warning from the sounds emulated from within the chamber. Three authorities had deserted the escape, in hope of finding a haven to spare them from the horror to follow. The other two were the first victims of what they had created. As they backed into a corner formerly occupied by a table of beakers behind a curtain, a glimpse of the reaper was seen. A massive humanoid who was as bulky as it was tall rolled off the table with little dexterity and moped to the corner in which its eldest creator sat. The shrill grind of chain bonds tailed the creation; they coiled its legs and were tightly strapped to its waist and climbed up the jagged abdomen and climaxed around the revived neck.
