Full of allure and mystery deep sea fishing or sport fishing as they like to call it now has long been a sport for the rich and famous, who fly around the globe in search of a world record catch.
Made popular by American author Ernest Hemingway in his 1952 Pulitzer Prize winning book The Old Man and the Sea the quest to land a Marlin is on the bucket list of just about every fisherman.
When it comes to migratory species of fish the Atlantic Blue marlin is the king of the crop travelling thousands of miles between African and the Caribbean in search of food and warm water.

This combined with a copiousness of available nutrient-rich food for the fish to feed on makes Lanzarote an excellent year-round fishing destination.
