Women in STEM Now more than ever, we need young women who have an affinity for science to put themselves in the position to pursue a career in the STEM field. Occupations within these fields are challenging and have the ability to leave a positive making on the rest of the world, usually through ways such as providing answers to pressing questions. Such questions can range from calculating the standard deviation associated with statistical data all the way to finding the cure for a person’s cancer diagnosis. In short, there are endless opportunities within the STEM field and each career path leads to a significant future for an individual who pursues it.

If there is a young woman out there who has an interest in STEM but chooses to withhold it for the sake of avoiding backlash in relation to gender conflicts, then it is truly not the individual woman who is at fault. Rather, it is the fault of individuals who add to the issue by not speaking up on the need and importance for incorporating women into a field that lacks gender diversity such as STEM. Therefore, I would like to use this interview as a step towards combining the power of my voice with a passion I hold in order to convince more people in the general society that women make up an important population of STEM occupations and have the ability to enhance the field. I want to use this interview as a method towards proving the skeptics wrong and to challenge other women to prove the doubters in this case wrong by putting themselves up for the challenge of pursuing a career in
