Every so often, we take for granted those who are important in our lives. Sometimes, we can ignore those who we think will always be there. The fact it, one day, they won’t. The poem “Abuelito Who” by Sandra Cisneros and the folktale “The Old Grandfather and His Little Grandson” retold by Leo Tolstoy are two examples of this important lesson. However their different genres, change in characters, and mood give a contrasting interpretation of their essential message.
The poems “Forgotten” and “Hanging Fire” demonstrate the possibilities of the similarities and differences that two different topics can represent. The two poems ‘Forgotten” and the poem “Hanging Fire” by Audre Lorde, share a similarity of a parent's absence. In “Forgotten” the text states, “...nobody else’s dad had gone away nine years ago./ Nobody else’s dad had been so loved by a four-year-old./ And so forgotten by one/ now/ thirteen.”
The techniques, such as, imagery and tone, help create the theme of memory and loneliness throughout the poem. The poem is very simple and complex as the same time where the speaker is using simple everyday objects to represent life and death. Using those literary techniques, Lee creates a tone and image of grief over the father’s death where the speaker lives through his memories leaving him forever
Upon building a bridge between his two worlds, he accepts the loss of his friend as this symbolises his strength and independence. In today’s society, sorrow, anger and denial are all emotions people experience in order to reach acceptance. Upon receiving guidance, love or a sense of belonging, we can overcome these
The poem consists of words that have symbolic meaning which depicts how the relationship is. The relationship is depicted as a very loving and caring relationship while the disadvantages of the relationship are discussed as well. In essence, the poem implies that the advantages in a true love experience overpower the challenges in a true love experience. The first stanza starts off gently to the likelihood of what seems to be great.

These two sentences show that she loves her husband with all her love and he loves her very much and she says that even if there was a man who could love her more she wouldn’t give him up. Also in the poem “ To my loving husband and loving Husband” she
The first poem describes how the speaker is consumed by this love and all of its hurt because the person who planted the feeling within them changed their mind. A rose is used as a metaphor for this love. I appreciated how this poem is openly reminiscing on a past experience. Poems are often written about past events, but I always find it refreshing to read a poem that is recognizing the time distance between the poem’s time and the time it’s written. I think you write about this personal thing in enough depth to express what you mean.
Lyrical writing can be great especially if the prose has meaning, which can make writing the prose that more enjoyable. Lyrical writing like other writings has the ability to express emotions and feelings based on how the writer writes. The lyrical prose “Be Present” is about how a young man is so caught up with comprising a social media post that being concerned what his wife is saying to him. Throughout the poem, Propaganda uses different stories to make a full circle picture of how life gets busy and how we do not take the time to enjoy “the present.” The juxtaposition, point of view, imagery, simile, silence and wrapping of being married and ending in divorce from his phone will be analyzed because he realized how important it is “to be

Finally, Liusu is able to marry the man she loves, and gains her social status back. Fan Liuyuan recites a poem from the Book of Songs in the novella, "Death, life, separation, with thee there is happiness; thy hand in mind, we will grow old together" (Zhang 149). As Fan Liuyuan interprets, "even there are many difficulties in life we still insist on saying I love you forever" (Louie 39). Many critics have mentioned that Fan Liuyuan lives in Britain most of the time, he is unlikely able to recite the classic poem like this. " However, as a playboy it makes sense that he has memorized these phrases associated with everlasting love and weddings in order to ingratiate himself with women" (Louie 22).
In the first stanza, we can already see how this poem can relate to the world today and how we feel about certain things. We as humans don't like change. Sometimes, we want something to happen so bad, that we don't consider how our life might change if this wish, this hope of something, actually happened. We sometimes may want something so bad, but fear what the consequences might be if something goes
