Throughout the third section of Wuthering Heights the prominent theme of the futility of revenge is developed through Heathcliff 's actions and dialogue. Heathcliff’s main motivation throughout this section of the novel is to complete his revenge by gaining Thrushcross Grange but after he obtains it he states that “I have not written my will yet; and how to leave my property I cannot determine!
