Yoda the little Piggie Backstory It was a nice sunny morning when Yoda, the little weaner pig, woke up. The others were already up and rolling in the mud. He blinked a few times, looking at everyone. He felt lazy today so he closed his eyes again. “Oink, Yoda, come and join us lazybug.” Yoda opened his eyes to find, Oliver one of his friends, towering over him. He decided to ignore him and closed his eyes again. “Suit yourself. Breakfast is coming soon so you better get up or there will be none left.” When Yoda didn’t respond, Oliver walked away with a grunt. He backed up a bit when all the pigs went running towards the food. Max chuckled and left the pigs to enjoy their breakfast. When Yoda decided that his belly was full, he went back into the mud and lay down. He watched the other pigs finish off the rest before he closed his eyes again. Max was nearby talking to Leah, their owner, but he paid to attention to them. But then Max’s words got his attention. “We have to deliver the pigs to the finishing barn tomorrow morning?” Max asked a bit uncertainly. Yoda shook his head and looked away. Sensing his depression, Oliver trotted to his side. “What’s wrong?” He nuzzled Yoda’s head and layed down beside him. “I just overheard Leah and Max saying that some of us are going to be slaughtered.” Yoda replied, his heart beating faster just at the thought of it. Oliver was still young. Yoda was certain they won’t take him. He watched Oliver carefully as he registered the shocking news. “It’s alright Yoda. There’s a chance that they might not take you.” He said, remembering what almost happened last time. Yoda knew the words were meant for comfort but he just felt even more heavy-hearted. Sleep did not come easy to Yoda and when it did, he had horrifying nightmares. He dreamt of pigs being cut into pieces, lifeless eyed pigs, and plenty of blood and gore. Yoda woke up troubled the next morning, unable to keep the revolting images out of his head. Breakfast was the same as ever, except the mood.
