As Ollie and I walk out of Carla’s place, we notice two dark figures in front of the passenger side of the car. “Wait here.” He says I wait and watch Ollie inch closer to the figures by the car. One of the figures stand up and walks towards him. As it moves into the light, I begin to see that this figure is a young man. I run up next to Ollie thinking it might help being that he would no longer be alone. This guy’s skin is extremely pale and his hair looks bleached. He and Ollie stare at eachother in a perplexed manner. “Sulei? His name is John and should not be able to foster anyone at all.” She explains. “What’s wrong with him? What does he do?” I find myself starting to pry. “He is a drug addict and alcoholic. The fact that he was able to get a foster licence is infuriating.” “He also beats me up if I don’t give him the money I make.” Suleiman adds. “Today he was so high on some kind of hardcore drug that he pointed a gun at my brother. That was the point where we realized we had to leave.” The atmosphere became very tense. “Yea so that’s our story. Now you can tell us what you two are doing here.” Says Suleiman. Ollie looks at me, telling me with his eyes that I should be the one to tell them. “Well, we are on our way to the airport becau—” “Really! Could you please please please take us with you and just drop us off? We really need to get out of this area.” She begs. Ollie grabs my hand and takes me to the car and looks me in the eyes. “We can’t take them Mads. You could get sick from them.” He worries “I could get sick from you too. We all make our way in the car, but it then quickly fills with anxiety. “Can we stop by the mini-mart please. I need to get some stuff” “Seriously Sulei? Can’t you wait?” Asks Sybille. “No, that's why I’m asking genius! Why can’t you just shut up and―” “Yes we can go! We need to get stuff as well.” Ollie interrupts. We park and enter the store. Suleiman runs straight to the restroom which is probably the only reason why we are here. I grab some waters. Ollie grabs some chips. Sybille is overwhelmed with fear. As I walk towards her, she snaps out of it and whispers to me, “We need to get out of here fast.” “Why? What’s wrong?” I frantically say. “Shhh. John is over there.” She responds Right then, Suleiman walks out the bathroom. I tell Ollie that John is here and to quickly get to Souleman before he draws any attention to himself.
