The first thing some people do in the morning is turn off their alarm and look at some social network. Now day’s social networks are easy to get to. It used to be that you would have to turn on your computer and go to a website, but now days it is their right on your phone, you do not even have to type in a website, because they now have apps that will bring up that social network. Social networks are everywhere around us and are used for many different reasons in our everyday life. They are used to school, work, and for your personal life. Social networks have contributed to the idea that the world is flat and also have had positive and negative impacts on global society. The requirement to upload a video is that you need to make an account. When uploading a video you are given the choice to make a video public so that everyone can see it or you can make a video private making it so that you are the only one who is allowed to watch it. To view a video you do not need an account. You can watch about anything on YouTube from tutorials, someone’s everyday life, news, movies, music videos, etc... YouTube has contributed to the idea the world is flat. When you upload a video on YouTube and make it public you are now allowing anyone to see your video. Making it so that you can upload a video in New York City and someone in India is watching it. Business can upload videos to YouTube and their employees at any location can watch them. Tumblr has made the world seem flat by the way people are able to post pictures from all over the world. Growing up I have heard the saying a picture is worth a thousand words. On Tumblr there are a lot of pictures that are posted. When the winter Olympics were going on in Sochi people who were there could post images of events right as they were happening making it so that people who were not there had the opportunity to see what exactly was going on live. Tumblr is also a place where companies can create a blog that takes about their products. On their blog they can have pictures of their upcoming, or about their newest items and where you can go and buy them. They can also create a link on their blog that will take someone to their website where they can buy the products. With companies shipping items all over the world and with Tumblr being accessible all over the world it makes it so that a company can help boost sales on their website by having a link on their blog that will take the viewer to their website to buy the item and sometimes the blog will give a coupon that can be used when someone purchases an item.
