The Communication of Music Music is made for the listeners to enjoy, understand, appreciate and communicate. There is a popular historical story in Chine about the communication through the music. In the story, Boya plays the ancient Chinese instrument, Qin. Zhong Ziqi as a listener, recognized the Mount Tai, rivers, and oceans under the music of Boya. The term, Zhiyin, which means knowing the tons of each other, is used to describe such communication through the music. The communication is between the creators and listeners. It is not a single case that listeners can feel the meanings inside of the music. Music can express its ideas and emotions by its melodies, beats, textures, and rhythms.
