Name: Katrina Melton Name of child observed: Zoie Age of child observed: 8 months Introduction of Zoie: The infant observation was of a baby girl named Zoie. First to be noticed was her full head of curly short black hair and thin black eye brows. Zoie also had very bright brown eyes, full round cheeks, small ears, and a small nose. She has a caramel skin tone and she also has a piercing in each of her ears. Zoie had nine teeth and was drooling immensely. Her body was proportional, her stomach was full and round, she had tiny feet, and short fingers. Zoie’s Interests: During creative art time Zoie likes to feel the paint and other textures with her hands. Zoie enjoys playing with different rattles and balls. Zoie’s exceptionally well at mimicking what she seen Ms. Washington do; (she sees her shaking the tambourine so she does the same). Zoe has separation anxiety when Ms. Washington step away and she can’t adjust her positioning, Zoie will begin scream and cry. Zoie was constantly looking at the caregiver. When the caregiver got up and walked away to grab another toy Zoie began to cry as the caregiver went out of her sight. As the caregiver was holding her and walking around the room with her she calmed down quickly. When the caregiver smiles and speaks to Zoie, Zoie becomes excited and smiles back at the caregiver. Zoie appears more comfortable when the caregiver is near her. To guide Zoie’s goals, I would have her look into a mirror so she could smile at herself I would do it first and I would have her imitate me. I would also hide toys from Zoie so she could find them. I would have Zoie to stand while holding furniture and also assistance with using push toys to help her
