After walking through the crowded parking lot, it is time to purchase a ticket. The Fair has multiple discount days including opening day, school kids day, super saver Tuesday, and senior citizens day. Anticipation builds from this point on. There are in array of activities
At the same time as the fair,
Frank Millet needed to get out a message to the people that the fair was the place to go, and he did this through promoting festive themed events and days such as the Midway Ball, which gained quite a bit a newspaper based press (Larson
Today is the day for the most fascinating, out of this world adventure, at Dollywood! Our class had an option of choosing our yearly class trip destination, and of course it was Dollywood! Dollywood is a place full of adventure, wonder, and magic! It has everything a girl could dream of it includes: roller coasters, food, animal descriptions, and an area of cognitive-content from years ago. Honestly, to tell you the truth, I had to persuade the class to pick Dollywood, but I knew it would be completely worth it.
At this point in time I was finally getting used to the fact that Point Pleasant was my new home. I went to the pool party which was held at the Atlantic Club. I was joined with many classmates and students from the whole grade. I remember this event as being one of the most fun where we we got swim and just have fun being kids. The reason why this event stands
My memory starts out with me and the family sitting on a swing on a KOA cabin’s covered porch trying to figure out what to do. We were stranded in Pennsylvania for a week while the camper wheel rim was being replaced because we lost both the wheel and the spare wheel in an accident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. While looking at brochures that were laying on the swing and in my lap, I saw a brochure for something called the Pennsylvania Renaissance Fair. We were intrigued by the glorious, glamorous, Elizabethan costumes worn by the performers shown on the glossy, high color, brochure.
It was the first time a performing in parade, going to Louisiana, and visiting Southern University. I thought I was going to have so much fun and being away from my parents for a whole weekend was also a plus. Due to the sleeping arrangements at the hotel there were two band members per room. Cameron and I were chosen to room together, and I was not thrilled about it at all. I remember thinking, “Really, him out of all people; out all people, I get the weird boy.”
I walked out of the door into the long hallway and began to walk around the asylum. I saw a large window
I could smell the distant sugar covered churros as we neared our local county fair, what a sight, there were countless games and rides to choose from. Hey, wait up Ash I said as she was already rushing over to the churro cart. She turned around and smiled and started running to the cart. Well, that basically summed up our relationship. Just as I was about to begin running someone grabbed my hand, I could already sense the enthusiasm from their hands.
Superman I have always been petrified of heights. This dates all the way back to when I would peer off the edge of the enormous playset in my backyard as a kid. Looking over the breezy, towering side, hands clammy, and mouth dry, it would send shivers down my spine.
The event that I have chosen is the Freedom Rides, which started May 4, 1961 and ended December 10, 1961. The Freedom Rides were inspired by the Greensboro Sit-ins, and started with 13 African American and Caucasian protestors riding buses into the segregated south to challenge the lack of enforcement to the Supreme Court ruling that segregated buses were unconstitutional. While the activists were peaceful the local law enforcement and people against their message were not. The activists were beaten at several stops along their journey from Anniston to Birmingham with chains, bricks, and bats by Ku Klux Klan (KKK) members in Alabama, and activists that were injured would be refused hospital treatment. Bull Connor, Commissioner of Public Safety
and we’d get yelled at to be quiet. Mr. England didn’t like me because I’d talk to the people around me during class. I wasn’t invited to much of the events that most kids were
“Bienvenidos a El Salvador,” the flight attendant announced over the intercom. I looked towards the windows and enjoyed the breathtaking scenery. I could see the long fields, the beautiful hills and valleys, and the volcanoes. The palm trees were bright green and the sky was filled with color. The land seemed to be filled with life.
We saw Mickey and Minnie, and Donald and Daisy. The day was filled with riding all sorts of fun rides. When it was
It was also pajama day at school. On the second day of my observation the students had to write their name on a start and then cut out the star. After they were finished they made birthday cards for their principle. That day their school theme was Broadway/Disney characters, and all of the students were dressed up. They were so adorable, and so confident on what they wore.
