The film industry is a major contributor to the entertainment economy and is continually growing and becoming stronger despite all odds. It has shown immense growth right from “1920’s were when the movie industry began to truly flourish, along with the birth of the “movie star”(history cooperative). A problem for the filmmakers is worrying if the weight to make benefit will detract from their sole reason, which is making workmanship. ‘How do they make their money’ ticket prices, foreign sales and DVD/TV/streaming rights/VOD are some the ways film studios like 20th Century, Walt Disney, Warner Bros etc. make profit. Due to the amount of money that goes into the production of a movie the filmmakers tend to worry if the movie will make enough profits, because of this they strive to create an aura for their movies and characters, to make them part of our world so that they can sell them (merchandising). These problem can be kept at bay by them adding /making use of new creative professionals who are still considered the “Aesthetic man”, this is because while a person who has been in the field for a long time might be more profit oriented this new entrant is still very much interested in creating art that the public will love. Also producing a variety of films will help them attract a larger audience which could get more streaming sites wanting them. Fox has always been one to push the industry’s boundaries an example being when the world wanted to bury movie musical, Fox gave the academy winning Sound of Music and used that opportunity of fame to introduce many more like Star Wars, Die Hard series and Home Alone. This is due to the fact that “the desire to entertain and move people has been at the core of what 20th Century Fox has been doing ever since”
