Need of achievement describes a person who seeks the achievement and attainment of realistic but challenging goals, and advancement in the job. There is a strong need for feedback for achievement and progress, and a need for a sense of accomplishment. Julian Rotter, put forward a locus of control theory. This theory holds that people with a strong internal locus of control has a strong personal belief that one has influence over outcomes through skills, efforts or ability and is one of the psychological traits most often asserted as related to entrepreneurship (Kaufmann et al, 1995).
