After looking at the results of the 360 Reach Assessment, it is clear that my main strength is my motivated attitude. However, this strength does not provide a competitive advantage over others, as anyone can work hard. In order to truly have a point of difference, I need to utilize my work ethic and combine it with my strengths of time management and problem solving. There is only so much time in a given day to get work done, so I need to be able to channel my work ethic in the most efficient way possible by managing my time. This requires prioritization of tasks, where I complete more significant problems first before spending time on more trivial matters. Fortunately, the first step to minimizing these weaknesses is to be self aware about them. Going forward, I need to focus on truly listening to the opinions of others, and acknowledging that I have heard them before offering my own opinion. Furthermore, I can practice integrating my ideas with others in order to satisfy everyone and make them feel like they are also making an impact. This strategy will allow me to gain respect from others, as they will see I am more considerate of their thoughts. A career in consulting offers access to a variety of clients in diverse industries, the ability to make an impact on a company’s problems, and the ability to travel the world. This line of work intrigues me because it offers value in multiple ways. Consulting would allow me to develop a strong network through client interactions, as well as exposure to diverse industries and problems, all while allowing me to travel the world. These aspects all make consulting an extremely appealing career with a lot of value. Consulting careers require an individual to be able to communicate well with the client, have a strong enough work ethic to immerse himself in a company, and the ability to solve complex problems in less than a month. I have strong communication skills, but when dealing with a client it is essential to treat them with the utmost respect, so it is imperative that I listen to everything they have to say. My work ethic is well suited for consulting, but I need to continue working on my problem solving skills. I think I can do a decent job at breaking down problems in attempting to find a solution, but consulting offers an extremely diverse set of problems.
