3M Command has come to a time when it must evolve and support new formats of uses for the company’s products. The current focus on home usage has provided a good revenue stream but it is now time to expand that consumer base to an industrial consumer. We have a strong presence and name recognition that will allow us to build this new client pool with little to no additional need for new departments, construction or production lines. The current personal consumer is also the decision maker in these industries that could utilize our product to increase their production, efficiencies and quality. Cost effective way to increase efficiencies. Easy application and replacement. Threats – higher price than competitors. Take our idea to a competitor for better deal on initial or replacement parts. The building of a key and unique partnership is essential to keeping this idea exclusive between the manufactures and 3M. As the SWOT analysis shows, there is a possibility that competitors can come in and provide the same product at maybe a lower cost or with a different replacement plan. 3M stands behind its quality of a product, but if the competitors under cut the cost and provide a replace plan on top of that, the quality aspect will be less of a driving force in the delivery of the 3M product. Competitive Analysis 3M has cornered the market in regards to movable plastic/wire hooks. The competition is minimal and does not provide a similar product that can provide the same type of solution as the Medium Wire Hook. The one company on the market that comes close is Panduit. They manufacture a cable mount that is more permanent and less flexible that could be utilized to hold the tubing. on a detailed and well prepared policy will assist in having the benefits of the internet while limited the risks and pitfalls.
