Sounder’s Corner
Wow! What a huge difference this year is to last year, and to any other Legacy year. With our new campus last year, and a new principal this year, the Legacy Community has faced their fair share of challenges. Who would have thought that through all these challenges, a school-wide newspaper would have emerged?
Being a 4th year student, I have seen all these changes first hand. And let me tell you, the current Legacy is 1000 times better than the first year. Yes, we have our issues. Yes, we aren’t perfect. Yes, we are not like a normal public school. But yes, we have made ENORMOUS strides and this newspaper is one step closer to changing Legacy for the better.
I am very thankful for this opportunity to be a part of this newspaper. I hope that everyone reading

He is bigger than Thor, and a sweetheart. Taking care of him has made me realize the amount of effort that goes into owning a lizard, let alone the 5 lizards we have at school. When I deal with any animal, I always try to be as careful as I can be, and sometimes I notice when other scholars are holding an animals, they hold them wrong, or drop them. So, I guess what’s really on my mind is treating our school animals correctly. For example, I saw a scholar holding Maggie in an awkward position, so Maggie started thrashing, scaring the scholar who was holding her. Maggie was being held about 3 inches up, and once she started thrashing, the scholar dropped her. Straight up let go, like “I JUST HELD A HOT PAN” let go. And of course, Maggie went crashing down, stomach first. It’s just little things like that, that make me wonder, do scholars really know how to treat these animals? Not saying that it’s bad not to know, but someone could end up really hurting an animal, which would suck. Like really suck. So just please be careful when dealing with our precious babies, and ASK QUESTIONS if you’re not sure how to treat
