Throughout most of the world, the Society of Jesus is best known for their schools and universities. Although those are wonderful things, in a time when many are searching for the greater meaning of life, the spiritual aspect of Jesuit life can help find this greater meaning. This is the concept introduced nearly 500 years ago by St. Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits. Saint Ignatius was a Spanish soldier who discovered his calling and turned to God after suffering nearly fatal wounds in battle.
Since an entire day is cut off the week, that extra time needs to be made up during the remaining four days. At my school, the class went from 8:15 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. — about an hour or two longer than a typical five-day-week school’s day. An eight-hour day is undesirable for elementary-aged kids. It can rapidly tucker them out. For high school kids, longer school days mean longer school nights.
However, a school could compensate for lost time by adding time to the end of another day that week if they found this to be an issue. To ensure that four-day school weeks will be implemented throughout school districts, voice concerns to school board members. Although some have oppositions to the idea of a four-day school week, it is clear that this modification would be for the greater good of the schools. By omitting a school day, students, parents, staff, and the environment will benefit
I don’t think the school board should add any more hours to school. Many people think school hours should become longer. I do not agree with that mainly because it would be hard to adapt to. I think this because it would just be a different thing to get used to and I think many children would not be able to come to school. Some reasons are school hours, my disagreement, and changes.
Dear Edmonson County school board members, In the issue of school starting time I believe we should push back to 9am. As a teen I understand how hard it is to get up at 5 or 6 in the morning. I have 3 reasons with evidence to why I believe school start time should get pushed back. One reason that the school start time is that it could affect our grades negatively.
This also helps the parents of the children because you don’t want to be the parent that must waste those precious minutes of sleep to just drop off your kid to their school, and the parents would have to deal with traffic from the coming and going of other parents, students, and teachers. Also, if the school only had four days that means the staff could get a slight increase in money in their paycheck since they might get compensation for the shortened work week or stay for another hour. Also, the district can save money too since they don’t have to pay for warming and cooling school buildings, hire substitute teachers, and pay salaries for staff like the cooks, custodians and bus drivers. Along with the decrease in spending by the district, fuel costs would go down too since buses won’t drive for five days and only 4 days. One example of this type of cost saving is that Webster County saved more than 250,000 dollars just because they cut out a single day from a week because all the small costs add up to a large amount.
When there is no encouragement, the teenagers often don’t show up to school. The lack of effort correlates to teachers because it could dispirit them from doing work they want to assign in class. Changing to a four day school week can give additional benefits to all parties involved including students, teachers, and the school settings. If a four-day school week was implemented in American school districts, the performance plus achievement for students will increase along with a higher attendance.
Instead of those other ideas, we could hold off on school until eight AM. Why should we have to wake up at six AM when we could sleep in and then go learn. My school should hold off on school until eight AM, but we could still get out on our usual time, 2:35. We should get a little more sleep because at least 5% of the school goes to sleep at eleven or twelve PM, and only those people can change it.
The day that we don’t have school could be the day that we could make up work and turn in assignments online on classroom. A little homework for each class would help out a lot. Teachers want to teach students and have them know all the knowledge that they teach and maybe use it in the later day lives and longer days with longer periods would let those teachers take their time teaching their subjects. This also allows students to take their time in getting their toughest work done. The class periods would probably be over an hour long but longer school days is a must if you for sure have four day weeks.
After receiving an email to find out that my assignment was invalid, I turned blue. I was in my composition-1 class when I received this email and the instructor asked me if something was wrong. I had one more chance (thanks to Dr. Sitton) to spend 24 fresh hours without the media and prepare a report on it. As I work on the weekends at the university dining hall, media-free 24 hours was not going to be a big deal because I am not supposed to use the phone during work anyways.
School days are too long,The school would save money if the days were shortened cause the lights would go off and that means school would be saving money. The school electry bill would be less money if days were shortened stop
Debate essay Ask anyone and I’m pretty sure they would tell you they want longer weekends. Students start looking forward to 3pm on Friday the minute their alarm wakes them up on Monday morning. Weekends are opportunities for students to let go of stress and to focus on the activities they enjoy. Some people just want longer weekends because they’re too lazy or busy. Longer weekends would make school more and exciting for students because it would give them more opportunities for self-directed work.
Many people say that school should not be longer. Many people think that the school day is long enough, and if I 'm being honest sometimes I think that too. Also many say that just because we lengthen the school day it isn 't a guarantee better test scores, in Finland it didn’t. But, though this is a valid argument its evidence is faulty.
Schools provide students with work that can be tedious, which already takes up a large part of their time after school hours. Imagine if the school board decided to extend school hours, it would only make it difficult for students to so do. School hours should not be extended because it limits a student’s personal time, puts more stress on them, and reduces time for extracurricular activities. It limits their time for personal work, such as chores, family time, and time spent with friends. If the workload increases because of the extended time, it will create more stress and anxiety that they will have to deal with.
Although this could result in students being in school 30 minutes longer it gives them the opportunity to complete some tasks that would cause them stress later that
