9/11 Attacks on the United States (You said my pictures counted as 1 word each) On September 11th, 2001 the worst terrorist attack to happen on the United States took place. Almost 3,000 people lost their life on that day. 9/11 impacted the United States in a social, economical, and politically. 9/11 is known by everyone in and outside of the US. September 11th, 2001 is a historic day for every american. A terrorist group known as Al-Qaeda had devised a plan to attack the World Trade Center Buildings, the Pentagon and a unknown target (possibly the White House or the capitol building). 9/11 started when four planes were hijacked near New York, and were bound to California. Two of the planes diverted their course to hit the Twin Towers. At 8:46 AM, the first plane hit the first tower on the 93rd floor. After that a second plane crashed into the 2nd tower at 9:03AM. Little did the world know this was only the beginning. At 9:37AM a third plane crashed into the west side of the Pentagon. The final plane, FLight 93 crashed in a field in Pennsylvania at 10:07AM killing everyone on board. Flight 93 is still a mystery because nobody knows where it was heading for sure. …show more content…

One of the main effects was PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) . PTSD was one of the worst effects of 9/11. Anyone who is alive and witnessed 9/11 has a pretty good chance of having PTSD. These people still have nightmares and flashbacks of 9/11. The scary thing about PTSD is the fact that it sticks with you for life. PTSD isn't something that is easily curable. It stays with you for life and never goes away. Most of the social effects were mental illnesses. It also affected immigration. It made immigration laws much stricter and less open. 9/11 also made airport security much stricter. The TSA definitely stepped up their game by scanning everyone and also doing random pat downs. There is no doubt that this has stopped things like 9/11 from happening
