The definition of an earthling is one who inhibits the earth, there is no sexism, racism or speciesim in the term. Mankind see s every human as a somebody not a something, on the other hand we see other speices as objects.Shaun Monsons film earthlings gives a troublesome reality to how the way human domination over the treatment of other species impacts the world as well as the notion that change is inevitable and either we make it ourselves or we will be forced to by nature itself. Earthlings taught me so much about the world we live in. It was a very thought provoking film. It was emotionally hard to watch at points but necessary to see. Earthlings is an exceptionally successful film as it opens peoples eyes to mans cruelty towards animals and just how much we are hurting this earth, in our disregard for nature. The film features humans use of nature as a commodity, influences people to change their habits and is emotionally shocking. We are all animals of this planet , we are all creatures. Ignorance is prevailed so long only because people do not want to find out the truth. If we don't wake up to this reality of how we treat animals we will suffer major consequences.

We do not see our actions as consequences therefore we are ruining the environment with deforestation, natural disasters and global warming. But we are also ruining our bodies by consuming and using animal produts that contain antibiotics, artificak hormones and synthetic chemicals. As a result we pay the price with cancer, diabetes, obesity, heart disease and more. "Natures not responsible for these actions, we are".The footage is hard to watch at points but very important to see. It leaves the viewer wanting to know more and dive deeper into the issue and realities of what is going on in the world that we don't know
