A Christmas Carol
Once upon a time there was an old, mean, and greedy man by the name Ebenezer Scrooge, and his creator was Charles Dickens who wrote the novel A Christmas Carol. Tom Hass wrote A Christmas Carol play that we read in class. Israel Horvitz wrote a version that was performed at the IRT. In both versions of A Christmas Carol there were a lot of similarities and differences.
The book and play both have similarities. One way there alike is scrooge is mean at the beginning and ends up nice at the end. Another way there alike is Marely has his chains in both. Another way they’re similar is they both have the same scenes. The 4th way there alike is they both are based in the same time era. The 5th way there alike is they both have the same props. The 6th way there alike is Fezziwig is happy in both. The 7th way there alike Is scrooge leaves his wife and doesn’t care. The 8th way there alike is they both have the same characters. The 9th way there alike is they both have the big turkey that scrooge bought.

The second way there different is Scrooge is slightly happier in the play than the book laughing more often and seeing more point in festivities such as Fezziwig's party. The 3rd way there different is in the book Marley is in it the whole time but in the play Marely is barely in it. The 4th way there different is in the book the pictures on the wall change and in the play, they don’t change. The 5th way there different is Christmas future in the book doesn’t have a whip but in the play Christmas future does. The 6th way there different is because in the book Marley takes his head off and in the play Marley doesn’t take his head
